Forever 21 (then called Fashion 21) opened its first store in Los Angeles in 1984. An instant success, its founder opened new stores every six months and changed its name to the one we are now so familiar with. It gradually moved into the malls in America, always ensuring that it had large, spacious stores, to offer everything customers needed. This, coupled with the excellent prices, seemed to create a winning formula.
The store went from strength to strength, rapidly expanding throughout the united states in its first decade of business. Flagship stores have been opened in a number of venues, with an average size of 24000 square feet per store - that's room for a lot of clothing! Offering a one stop shopping experience, in a fun and exciting environment, Forever 21 has now become a shopping sensation.
2010 saw the launch of Forever 21 in the UK, after becoming very popular online with British fashion lovers. The first stores were in the Birmingham Bullring and Dublin, and were a huge success. When a flagship store opened a year later in London, fans queued outside from 7am, stretching round the block on Oxford Street. By 4pm, the store announced it had had 11000 customers.
Forever 21 is now considered by many to be the ultimate destination for affordable fashion. Providing customers with "a constant flow of fun and creative clothing designs and the accessories to make your look come together at the right price… always changing and always in style", Forever 21 is now a fashion phenomenon in itself.
